I give Stuffy a few more sniffs.

“Also, you’ll be grateful when they bring Stuffy on the set to check the scene and set up the lighting,” says Mom. “Then you won’t have to sit still while the lighting crew does all their adjustments.”

Good! If this pretend dog is going to take on all the dangerous work and the boring stuff, then Stuffy is okay with me.

“Now if you two are quite through getting acquainted, we need to keep to our schedule.”

Mom heads with me to Chewy’s kennel. “Time for your scene together,” she says as she leads us both to a film set.

Hey, wait a minute, I think. It’s one thing to share the spotlight with two dogs and a stuffed animal. They don’t expect me to work with Chewy, do they?

This is not what I had in mind.
